In what format are the beautifulsounds downloads?

The downloads are usually 96, 64 or 48 kbps MP3 files, except where file sizes prove prohibitively large, in which case we use 32kbps. 32kbps is the industry standard, but we thought our customers would prefer better sound quality, even if it takes a little while longer to download the files. All are encoded at 44 kHz. They do not use any DRM or encryption.

What is the audio quality of the beautifulsounds downloads?

The audio quality is excellent—all the downloads are individually custom encoded from the original digital masters

 

Can I play them on my MP3 player?

They should play on virtually all MP3 players, including those in mobile phones

Can I play them on my computer?

Most definitely.

 

Which players will not play them?

The downloads should play on virtually all modern MP3 players, including those in mobile phones. Unfortunately, is it impractical to produce an exhaustive list of MP3 players/software compatible with our downloads, as makes and models change so often.

If I stop the MP3 during playback, will my player start again in the same place?

Where downloads are over a certain length, they are divided into chapters of approximately 60 minutes each. Each chapter has a separate file, and you can download the individually, or all together.

If my credit card is declined, what should I do?

If my card is accepted, but the download is not authorised, what should I do?

Can I use a credit card from any country to buy a download?

Download transactions are handled by Barclaycard Merchant Services. You can pay by any means they offer in your country. Please note that they do NOT take Amex cards.

 

I don’t have a credit card. Is there any other form of payment?

How can I obtain a receipt for purchases?

After purchasing a download, you will receive a receipt via e-mail from BMS and an e-mail from beautifulsounds containing the links to your downloads.

If there is a break during the downloading, how can I resume?

The most common form of failure is the loss of internet connectivity. You may need to reset your modem or router and then start the download again.  The link will work for seven days after purchase.

How big is each download, and how long will it take to download?

The answer to this is basically, "how long is a piece of string?". Download times depend on file size, the efficiency of your phoneline, distance from exchange, speed of modem/wireless adapter as well as many other factors. As complete downloads can be very large, it is strongly recommended that you have a broadband internet connection – a dial-up connection will simply take too long for larger downloads.

 

When the MP3 has downloaded to my computer, how do I get it into iTunes and then to my iPod?

Unfortunately, beautifulsounds is not able to offer support for your MP3 player or software, becasue there's so many different MP3 players available. Please consult your owner’s manual, or visit the manufacturer’s website:

Can I burn what I have downloaded onto MP3 CD's and play them in the car?

You should be able to create your own MP3 CDs from your download purchases. Please remember when you purchase a download from beautifulsounds, you are licensed to use the file(s) for your own personal, non-commercial use, and are not permitted to distribute, lend, broadcast, or share the files with anyone else. beautifulsounds does not offer support for burning MP3 CDs.

 

 

Can I pass my downloads on to my friends?

Sorry, but no. When you purchase a download from beautifulsounds, you are licensed to use the file(s) for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you are not permitted to distribute, lend, broadcast, or share the files with anyone else.

If I delete them by mistake, can I get them again?

When you purchase a download, you are given a link to the files to download. The link will work for seven days, after which time you will no longer be able to download your purchases. Please ensure that you back-up your downloads to avoid losing them should your computer fail.
